Signals on the iPad offers the same quality editorial and sumptuous pictures as the print magazine, combined with the convenience of digital delivery – ensuring you can access it almost anywhere on the planet.

The September edition is out now.  It includes features describing our maritime archaeology team’s search for the relics of an India-trade horse transport on the Barrier Reef, how Dirk Hartog’s accidental landing 400 years ago put the west coast of Australia on the map and how a 100-year-old fragment of film inspired a contemporary artist from Arnhem Land to create spirit figures embodying Yolngu culture.

You can read all these and more by accessing your FREE trial version of Signals. Just search for “Signals Quarterly” on the iPad App Store or click go to anmm.gov.au/SignalsApp and follow the instructions below. If you like what you see, please return to the App Store and give us a review and a star rating. Each subsequent issue is $1.99.

Signals magazine is free to museum Members and Volunteers via a coupon code which can be obtained by contacting the Members or Volunteers teams.

  1. This is so frustrating. I don’t have an iPhone or an iPad and the app won’t dLoad to my Mac Laptop. I can’t even find it – easily. Just too much hassle. Why can’t I just go to the signals website like I used to? I do have an android tablet.

  2. Sorry Graham, we are trialing an iPad app because the majority of our visitors are on Apple technology. We are also hoping to reach more maritime enthusiasts by putting the museum’s magazine on the App Store. If it proves popular we will look at releasing an Android version. Richella

    • I see missjodes23 is on my wavelength. Also I did a show of hands survey at the guides am debrief and the result did not substantiate your claim that majority of “visitors” are on apple technology. And Signals is meant to be for paid up members only anyway. Also I cannot post a “like” as wordpress doesn’t recognise my ANMM login and pw info. All up a complete nightmare.

  3. I understand that this is in a trial phase so in the interest of providing constructive feedback. I am a little frustrated that this is accessible only via iPad and therefore I can not access it on any of my iPhone, Android tablet or Mac Computer.

  4. I also would like to see it available on other platforms. I have an iPhone and Apple Mac but don’t bother with also having an iPad. I am a member partner with my mother.
