Week 6

An arduous week, but most of the exterior detail associated with the hull, bulwarks, and the rudder is now complete.

Applying detail to a model of this small size is a long and time consuming job, but rewarding as you watch the ship starting to take shape.

My aim is to have the hull completed by the end of next week. This will involve planking of the decks, application of paint throughout the hull, and then completion of small details dependent upon such.

  1. Mike,

the model is looking excellent already, the attention to detail is really going to pay dividends. I can see this will be the sort of model you can spend a lot of time looking over, and come back to again and again, I will be interested to see how it develops as you add fittings and colour.

  2. I have been following the building of your model with great interest. It’s wonderful to see it taking shape. I think your addition of the dog figurehead was a good call! Thank you for allowing us to watch your progress.
